Meanwhile, the clone demons assault Nezuko and Tanjiro as they flee. Sekido strikes them with lightning, and Nezuko goes unconscious. Tanjiro is the first to awaken and rushes alongside her while Karaku pursues them. Nezuko awakens as he tosses them out of the home, clutching Tanjiro's blade.
The house is destroyed, and the clones begin scouring the ruins for the siblings. Tanjiro is perplexed as Nezuko is trapped behind debris, but she continues to hang on to the sword until her hands bleed.
Gyokko assaults the misfit three by forming a minion out of the 5 swordsmiths it devoured. The swordsmiths are still alive and are capable of feeling pain. Tokito, enraged, attacks. Gyokko continues to flee, but he is enraged because Tokito sliced his vases and does not value art. While Tokito realizes that simply beheading Gyokko is sufficient to kill him, the potted demon attacks Kotetsu and Kanamori with fish needles.
Tokito rushes to them, only to be wounded all over by the poisoned needles. He orders the two swordsmiths to flee and hide as he confronts the potted demon. Gyokko provokes him by saying he will sacrifice his life while trying to save worthless lives, which brings up memories of Tokito. Someone informs him that his Gyokko then attacks and imprisons him in a water jail. He then boasts that he will destroy the village, weakening demon slayers. This will make it easier for the demons to slay Ubuyashiki later on.
Meanwhile, Nezuko employs her blood demon art to transfer her power to Tanjiro's black blade, which blazes red. As Tanjiro prepares to attack, he suddenly recalls the 300-year-old slayer. A woman had admired his sword, which was also black but glowed crimson when he fought. Tanjiro is perplexed, but he states that his blade has become crimson as a result of Nezuko's assistance.
